The 'World Inequality Report 2022' was released on Tuesday regarding the increasing inequality between rich and poor in the countries of the world. 100 Eminent economists of the world have prepared this report after studying the economic inequality of the countries.
The report shows that India is such a poor and very unequal country with a large number of wealthy people. The report indicates that while the poor are growing in the country, the elite is getting richer.

The preface to the report has been written by Nobel laureate Abhijit Banerjee.
- The annual average national income of adults in the country is Rs 2,04,200.
- The 50% of the people of the country earn only Rs 53,610 annually. The top 10% earn more than 20 times these i.e. Rs 11,66,520.
- The income of the top 10% of the rich accounts for 57% of the total income of the country, while the top 19% of the rich account for 22% of the total income of the country.
- This year, the income of 50% of the people of the lower strata has decreased by 13%.

The wealth of half the population is zero, the rich have 65%.

- His average wealth is Rs 66,280, which is just 6% of the total wealth.
- The middle class is similarly poor. He has an average asset of Rs 7.23,930. This is 29.5% of the total assets.
- The top 10% of people have assets worth Rs 63,54,070, which makes up 65% of the total wealth. Whereas 1% has assets of Rs 3,24,49,360. This is 33% of the total assets.
