Book review of Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert T.kiyosaki

Image
In this book, Robert Kiyosaki discusses what he learns about money, investing and life in general from his two Dads. Poor Dad (His Father) and Rich Dad (Father of his best-friend). Great book on financial literacy that everyone needs! It changed my perspective and enjoyed the personal stories shared. The tagline is enough to give you an insight on what this book has in it for us. “What the Rich Dad Teach Their Kids About Money That the Poor and Middle Class Do Not!”   My favorite part was the reflection questions at the end of each study guide; they really get you thinking about your view towards money and help you see where you could be improving when making financial decisions. The first half of the book is a fun story on the conversations with both his dads (well, one is biological and the other is his financial dad). These conversations are nice because the innocent questions little Robert asks would be the same that many readers would have while they are reading through the bo...

The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.

Image
The Alchemist Written by: Paulo Coelho Genre: Fantasy & Adventure fiction  A Fable about following your dream. This book left a big impression on me.It’s almost as if, while you’re reading it, you can imagine your grandfather telling it to you as if it’s a tale from his childhood. I always thought that novels were a waste of time because you never learn any “real life” lessons from them, but this book finally proved me wrong. This seemed like a fitting start to my book reviewing journey, owing to that fact that this is easily one of my favorites books. I have read, and re-read this piece of art several times. The writing style is gripping, and deeply profound when read with an open mind. It is a story of a shepherd, Santiago, who leaves his flock and his land to pursue his dream. A boy who is on a journey of discovering his destiny and realizing his dream of finding a treasure. This story tells us that the happiness, contentment, peace, spirituality & joy of one’s life li...

Ikigai: The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life.

Image
I kigai is a Japanese concept that means  your 'reason for being . ' 'Iki' in Japanese means 'life,' and 'gai' describes value or worth. Your ikigai is your life purpose or your bliss. In this book, the term  ikigai  is translated as  the bliss of always being busy.  Ikigai is actually a combination of your passion, your mission, and your profession. This book answers some basic questions as to why some people keep doing what they have been doing for years tirelessly even though it's the same things over and over again, say, actors, bloggers, artists,  writers, Flim makers,  and so on. Why do some people never get bored or frustrated repeating doing the same things over and over again? Now I know this book is overhyped in the market and a lot of us have too high expectations from it. While I think the book is more about answering the basic question which we most of the time overlook. Also, it provides a ten-point compressed rule of ikigai: 1. St...

Book review of Faithfulness by mustufa siddiqui

Image
I am still reading this and haven't finished it yet but I must say that this book, it changed my perspective on a lot of things and I realized how wrong I was and how I used to think that my knowledge about the world or rather some common issues was mostly right This book I think, is a must read for people who want to know about the journey of human progress made thus far. One of the super positive books I have ever read. This book is a kind of eye opener for many as this will turn their world outlook upside down. One of the most important books ever written. I reckon it as the best book I've read so far. Very lucid and comic writing based on writer's personal experience of over 5 decades as a UN health specialist and real data on a very important topic. Defying popular belief Mr. Rosling has shown us a future of hope and semi utopia. An eye-opening book that helped me understand the world a little bit better. The book is also easy to read ...

The Prophet By Kahlil Gibran
